Welcome to the Benton Amateur Radio Society's (B.A.R.S.) home on the Web. We are a local group comprised of licensed amateur radio operators, also known as "hams". Amateur radio operators are licensed, private individuals that own and operate radio transmitters and receivers on frequencies allocated by the FCC. While there are many, many areas of interest in amateur radio, our group is primarily interested in helping the public through emergency operations and public service events.

To better be prepared for emergency communications we actively participate in the annual ARRL Field Day activities. Check out our progress as we actively prepare for the Field Day exercise by clicking on the " Field Day" button on the menu at the top of this page.

"Some men give up their designs when they have almost reached the goal; while others, on the contrary, obtain a victory by exerting, at the last moment, more vigorous efforts than before."
